FORFEITURE OF SEATS.

MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS. . - By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' ■ Christchurch, Last Night. Hie Auditor-General has notified the Kfciaptii Borough Council that the Mayor ■\ (Mr. J. H. Blackwell) and Councillors R. ' Wylie and R. Dunn have forfeited their seats on the Council, owing to having supplied the Council with gpods over the Amount allowed by the law. The aspects of the matter are the same as affecting the disqualification of Lyttelton councillors, and the Auditor-General is being asked to reconsider his decision, seeing ' that the goods were supplied to the peace Celebrations committee, and not to the council. A similar difficulty faces the Mayor of Stratford .(Mr. J. W. McMillan), as reported by our Stratford correspondent on another page.
