CAUSES RIOT AT BRESLAU. SATISFACTION PROMISED. By Telegraph.—Press Assd.—Copyright. Berlin, August 28. Meetings were held at Breslau to protest against Polish troops invading Silcsia disguised as civilians. The meeting, which was engineered by'ex-Ger-man officers, developed into a riot. A mob demolished the Polish • Consulate and destroyed documents and «did the same at the French Consulate, except that the police saved the achives. The rioters .raided a hotel in search of French officers. Ultimately the demonstration became anti-Semite and plundered the Jewish stores. Paris, August 29. Expressing Germany's regret for the attack on the Breslau Cpnßulate, the Charge d'Affaires promised the punishment of the guilty and full satisfaction for the incident. 5 The French Government replied that compensation would be demanded when the' Embassy at Berlin reported the details. • The Matin says the Government will insist on a solemn apology in which thn city of Breslau must participate.
