FURTHER AMENDMENTS MADBi. By Telejrapb.—Pisss Association. Wellington, Last Night. Further amendments In the scale of telephone charges, with effect from Ist iust., are announced. The rates for the first mile ill the ease of both business and private connections remain unaltered, but thereafter a reduction of 2s 6d Will he made ftfr each quarter mile or fraction 'there-1 of. At the four principal exchanges the minimum rate for business subscribers will be £9 10s per annum for the first mile or fraction, thereof. The total subscription amounts to only % fraction over sixpence per day. The distance over which half rate connections may be made, namely, 25 miles, which was in force prior to the recent amendment;, has been reverted to.
