HUNT CLUB RACING. I Mr. D. .T. Hughes writes: I wish to bring under the notice of Hunt Clul> officials a few remarks that I*woukl like them to consider foj> 4lielr next meeting. This is not intended as , criticism of the ineet.inK just held, but will, I Ih/po, be endorsed tiv many who are every day followers of hunting. (I) A r»et> to be included for hunters ivho have never contested any race except. :i hunters' race. One continually notices the effort mode to qualify racehorses and broken-down racehorses, and It is discouraging: to the legitimate follower to have- to compete against them with his hack. (2) .Tumps to he erected as near as possible similar to those found on the hunting field. (3) A day's license to ride be issued to those who aro true followers of hunts and a race for same riders. X believe something on the foregoing lines would popularise the sport, make It less professional, and better the class of horse which all are aiming at.
