DAWSON'S FALLS HOUSE.

GOVERNMENT GRANT REFUSED. A request for £3OOO to rebuild (lie Dawson's Falls, House was recently made to the Government by the Egmont National Park Board, and Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P., has now received advice that the grant cannot be made. In refusing the request, the Minister of Tourist, and Health Resorts (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) explains that the Government's inability to grant the money is "in view of the heavy demands for places directly under this department." The Minister adds that he hopes, when time permits, to pay a visit to the Egmont National Park.
