NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. THE CHAMPIONSHIPS. The second rounds of the New Plymouth Club's championships, senior and Junior, for Saturday players, wore played on Saturday afternoon. In the senior championship oDiy thrf.e matches were played right out, J. S. Paton T. V. Maekay and It. MrQuade winning. W. H. Kobertshaw won from V. Elliott by default'. and Ceo. Grey won from P. S. Johns, who sprained his ankle. When the accident happened at the 15th hole Grey and .lohns were all square, and an interesting ilnish was anticipated, but Jolms' withdrawal gave tho match to Grey. Details are : SENIOR. .T. S. Paton heat A. H. Steeds, 4 up and S. T. V. Mackay, beat .1. Simpson, S up and 0. Geo. Grey won from F. S. Johns, who retired. . W. H. Robertshaw won from V. Elliott by default. ft. T. McQuade beat .1. S. S. Medley, 0 up and 4. JUNIORS. lienner heat O'Carroli. 3 up and 2. Surrey heat Sutherland, 1 up. Johnson beat Bloxuim, Z up and 4. McAilum heat Crolter, II up and 2. S, Burgess heat Osborne, 5 up and 4. Brash beat Lawrey, 1 up at the lDlh: SOUTH TOURNAMENTS. PLAYERS FROM NEW PLYMOUTH. A party of New Plymouth golfers will leave for Fahnerston North this morning to compete in the tournament there, which opens to-morrow, and which will he continued on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The party comprises A. Smith, W. H. Chong, D. H. liutcher, W. P. Nicoll, 'V. Elliott, W. 11. Hroomc, J, S. Paton and J. Austin. After tho Palmfcrston North tournament these golfers, with the exception of W. P. Nicoll and \v. H. Broome, will compete at the Wanganui tournament, which will be held on September S, 9, and 10.
