DEADLOCK ENDED.
WATERSIDERS RESUME WORK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, August 26. The toatersideix responded to the call for labor this morning. Work has been resumed on all vessels in port. There is a general feeling of relief that the deadlock 011 the wharves has ended. Considerable interest'was taken in the call for waterside labor this morning. The call with resapt to the Japanese steamer Meiktti ( Mar 11, laden with superphosphates, was made just before 8 o'clock and it was quite evident that the more militant section had cooled down very much since yesterday. Still a certain amont of patience had to be exercised. After about twenty minutes a full complement for the Meikai Maru was obtained and the way was then clear for the employment of other labor.
The announcement that fresh labor would be engaged was received with cheers. By fl o'clock all the boats, including several with coal, were being worked. The first load of coal was received at the city power-house soon after 10 o'clock and tramway services were resumed about noon. The Ivaramu is discharging a cargo of coal at the Miramar wharf, but the Gas Company is unable to say when the want 3 of its customers can be supplied again.
