TARANAKI'S WANTS.

LARGE DEPUTATION GOES TO WELLINGTON.

A large deputation organised by the Taranaki Progressive League left for ■Wellington yesterday morning with the object of placing before the Prime Minister and the Minister for Public Works the claims of Taranaki in regard to railway construction and other public works.

The deputation consisted of Messrs. E. Dixon (Mayor of Hawera),- R. J. Linn (Hawera County Council), C. J. Belcher (chairman the Eltham County Council), W. R. Wright (chairman Egmont County Council), T. A. Bridge (Munaia County Council), J. B. Richards .(Stratford Chamber of Commerce), Sutton (Kohuratahi Settlers' Association), W. McL. Kennedy (representing Whangamomona County Council), R, H. Piggott (chairman Clifton County Council), J. S. Connett (chairman Taranaki County Council), and Newton King (New Plymouth 1 Harbor Board). In Wellington the deputation will be joined by Messrs. A. Morton (president, N.D.A.f and W. P. Kirkwood (vice-president, Progressive League).
