The Milner Commissioner will report in favor of the recognition of the independence of the sovereign states in Egypt, which will be embodied in the new Anglo-Egyptian treaty. Egypt will control her own foreign relations, and appoint diplomatic representatives. The army of occupation wiil be withdrawn within a stipulated period, though Britain will maintain a small force to protect the canal. Though the officials will not he absorbed by the Egyptian civil service, they will be withdrawn. Britain will guarantee Egypt's security against an aggressor, Egypt recognising Britain's special position in the Nile Valley.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
