COURSING.

TO-DAY'S MEETING. The New Plymouth Cup meeting opens at the Glen Avon grounds to-day, and the finals will be held on Friday. Very good entries have been received, including such good dogs as Some Hope, Salvador, Bill's Gift, Adam Bede, Whirlwind, Biplane, Tip Up, and Canniball. For the convenience of the public, a new gate has been placed iinmc lately at the rear of the judge's box. This Innovation will be greatly appreciated by the public, us it will save a long walk to the slipper's position. The draw took place last night, and the payout will take place at the Foresters' Hall on Friday evening, the day of the finals, at 8 p.m. ' A fine field of 32 dogs will compete at the meeting. The hares are an exceptionally strong lot. Mr. J. Jenkinson will again act as Judge, and Mr, F. Doughty will control the slips.
