A meeting under the auspices of the P.P.A., in the Town Hall, resolved to forward the following to Mr Lloyd George.: "Thifc meeting of over 3000 Protestants, and fin behalf of 250,000 Protestants of New Zealand urges you effectively to deal with Sinn Fein, to treat Archbishop Mannix as a rebel and traitor, and maintain the solidarity of the British Empire." A further resolution supported the firm attitude of Mr Hughes in deporting Jerger and dealing firmly with disloyalists such as Archbisliop Mannix.
