SPORTING JOURNALISTS' WAGES. By Telegraph.—Frees Association, Christelmrch, Last. Night. The Conciliation Council to-day heard a dispute of the Cliristohurcli Journalists' Union in regard to writers engaged on the New Zealand Referee and Sporting Calendar, the publisher of which m the Christchurch Press Company. A complete settlement was arrived at on all points. Wages fixed are:—Superior r.nft sporting writer, £7 10s; senior racing writer, £7; senior trotting 'writer, £7; general sporting writer, £"i: all plus 10s Bonus. Hours of work were fixed at not more than twelve per day. The award operates immediately and expires on the same date as the Canterbury journalists' award.
