RE FACTORY WAGES.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—"Pair r'lay" says ho does not wish to enter this controversy rery deeply. I think it Is a pity lie did not enter more deeply into the matter Before rushing into print, anil he would have found out it is not the wish of the Rahotu Dairy Company to get a cheap man for butter making. Our reason , for not staling the salary, in to give a Rood, man a of ,sayiuy how much he wants. We want a good man, and are prepared to pay a good salary. I would liko> "Fair Play" to know that the Rahotu Dairy Company paid out in wages during the past, year the sum of £1024 for an output of nan tons of cheese. If "Fair Play" can mention a factory that has paid out moiv wages per ton of cheese than Rahotu, I will be pleased to know of it, and I will see that our men are placed on a similar footing. Tho Rahotu Dairy Company want good men and fair workers, not. fair players.—l am, etc., WALTER C. GREEN. Rahotu, August 18, 192 U.
