HUNT ACCEPTANCES TO-MORROW. Owners and trainers are reminded that acceptances for the North Taranakl Hunt Club's meeting/ close with the secretary, Egmont Street, to-iuorrow (Friday, August 20), at 9 p.m. MARTON WEIGHTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night Rouen 8.5, was omitted from the weights for th© Electric Hack at the Marton meeting. ELTHAM CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Eltham Racing Club was held on Tuesday evening, the president (Mr. G. W. Taylex) occupying the chair. Tho president said he was sorry that Elthanl people did not support the club in tho manner they should have done, and it was only the hard work of the committee that had made the meeting tho success It was. However, small beginnings often had big endings, and the committee had now every hope that a totalise tor permit would be obtained in the near future. It was an uphill task to endeavour to. Un a race meeting without the "tote," for ihey were unable to offer substantial prize money. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £lO2 18s 2d.
Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: President, Mr. G. W. Taylor.; vicepresident, Mr. C. A. Wilkinson; committee, Messrs. P. Casey, E. C. Goldstone, E. Crabtree, J. T. Briscoe, J. L. Campbell, John Campbell, and E. H. Patten. Mr. C. L. Wilson was re-apopinted auditor, and was voted £3 for his services for the past year. In answer to a question the secretary said the club had a promise of 215 members, of whom 180 had paid their entrance fees, and 83 had paid up their subscriptions. Others had been written to but had not responded up to the present. Three new members were elected.—Argus.
