Both sides are putting their best efforts into the fight and are spending much money. The prohibition advocates include many Americans. An explosion occurred on the barge Dorcas, on the Thames, which was carrying to Woolwich 250 barrels of petroleum. Both the cargo and the barge, wcjre totally burned, and six other barges \vere set. on fire and damaged. The captain of the Dorcas is missing, and two sailors have been sent to hospital suffering from severe burns.
