The contests generally were keen. The programme included the heats and semifinals of the 100 and 800 metres, and the HO 440 yards hurdles —Aus.-N.35. Cablo Assn. Kent and. Hughes (Australia) won heats in the 400 metres hurdles In 57 sec. They were defeated in the semi-final. Hunt won a heat in the 100 metres.—Ans.-N.Ji. Cable Assn.
