AUSTRALIAN SUPERPHOSPHATES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, August 14. The Prime Minister has reoeived in* formation from Australia that the Federal Government has removed the em-, bargo against the export of superphosphate and the materials for itj jnanufacture. A large deputation of Auckland «ommercial, 'timber, aud university mi waited on Hie Prime Minister and other members of Cabinet to press the claims of Auckland to a school offorestry. Mr. Massey replied that OaMttft was glad to see the interest manifMted In the matter. The only pity wa« 4hat more had not been done In the past, for New Zealand would give anything to-day for timber ruthlessly destroyed twaatyfive years ago. He admitted that Auckland possessed special facilities for the study of timber, but he would not com* mit Cabinet to-day. The matter Would be decided before very long 1 , and an effort would be made to choose a locality wMch would be moat suitable from the point of view of the Dominion as a whole. DOMINION BATRIOTIC FUNDS. Wellington, August 14. The total amount of the funds held by the New Zealand patriotic and war ralief societies on March 31 last was £1,748,507, and the number of men who had over 20 per cent disability totalled 3263, which number will be increased very much when full particulars are obtained' from the Pensions Department. In addition there will be a large number Of men who will break down as ithe remit of Avar service. f
