MOVE TOWARDS PEACE.
AN IMPORTANT STEP. By Telegraph.—Pf»s» Asaa.—ObjtlblU. Received August 13, 5.5 p.m. London, Xugust 12. The Dublin correspondent of the Evening News reports a combined and big break-away of Covenanters from Sir Edward Carson's supporters. A representative deputation is going to Downing Street to interview Mr. Lloyd George and inform him that a large proportion of Watermen are prepared to sink all their old prejudices against the South, and advocating an immediate offer to Ireland of Dominion Home Rule, subject to Ireland remaining in the Empire. They willingly pledge themselves and sapporters to work for a united Ireland with one Parliament. The move is regarded as ft most important towards peace. It is the first time in history that Irishmen have agreed regarding the form of government desired.—United Service.
