CALCUTTA STRETS UNDER WATIOR. By Tdemnh.-—Press Assn.—Copyrlelit. Delhi, August 10. Abnormal monsoonal rains caused floods throughout the country, they being particularly severe in Bengal, where, a number of villages wore swept away. At Jamshedpur one thousand huts in the native quarter were destroyed. Many people are homeless. Large areas of crops in various districts were destroyed. The main streets of Calcutta were deeply flooded and traffic was -suspended. Heavy damage was done to pro-perty.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (
