DAIRY FACTORY WAGES.

Sir,—Your correspondent "Cheddar Cheese" opens up the question of wages for factory Wor)t, and .compares same with the price of butter...fat to suppliers. There Is only on® way to meet this position, and that Is for all the companies to decide with their own men on a wage suitable to both parties. The schedule of the Auckland factory. pay is Over 7 vats: First assistant £5 10s, second assistant £4 17s 6d, other hands £3 17s 6d. Caaiials get one* full day oft per week, both assistants half a day. off, and a fortnight's holiday at the end of the season if they have worked more than nine months. Over five vats: First £5, second £4 10s, casuals £8 17s Bd. Over three vats: First £4 15s, second £4 ss, casuals £3 15a. Under three vats: First £4 10s, no second, 2 casuals £3 15s each. Personally, I am not interested in this now, only that I would like to see the men paid a fair wage for the work they do.
