COURSING.
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. . A well-attended meeting of the New Plymouth Coursing Club was held on Monday evening, Mr. T. Richards presiding. The meeting to be held at the (Jlenavcn grounds on August 25th .-.and 27th includes the Taranakl Cup, for 32 dogs or hitches, at £2 2s each (guaranteed stake), winner £3O and a handsome cup presented by Mr. .T. Hannan. Run-ner-up £ls, two dogs at £5 each, and four dogs at £2 2s'each. A supplementary stake will be run on the second day for dogs beaten in the first and second rounds. Nominations clcso on Tuesday, 2*';h.—night of draw. ' It was decided tn forward a letter of thanks to Mr. Stones, of Bell Block, for his donation, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Ben Tipping for his voluntary assistance at the gatefi at the recent meeting. Mr J Jenkinson was appointed judge, and Mr. F. Doughty slipper far the forthcoming meeting. It is quite probable that fully a dozen entries will be recelived from Hamilton for the cup meeting, so well satisfied are owners at the manner in which the Waterloo meeting was conducted. It was decided that in the event of Dunedln not agreeing to run the Australasian Waterloo In that city, application will be made to have it held at New Plymouth. A shorv time back a doubt existed I" the New Plymouth Club being able to arrange holdin .- it here,' but that obstacle has now been overcome. > ' It *vas decided to hold a two class eightdog stakes during the week following the cup meeting.
