Heavy liquidation of stock followed receipt of the news of the unfavorable Polish situation. Industrial stock fell, one to ten points. Foreign exchange rates were steady, however, sterling gaining three-quarters of a cent. SLUMP AT MONTREAL. Ottawa, August 6. At Montreal yesterday, stocks showed the heaviest tumble for years.
