ODDFELLOWSHIP.
The Independent Order of Oddfellows, New Zealand, held a highly successful reopening meeting in the Foresters' Hall on Friday evening, when the old members of the Paritutu Lodge, No. 22, met for the purpose of enrolling new members, and general business. Eleven candidates were initiated, and 14 more proposed. The initiation ceremony was impressively carried out by the officers of the Triumph Lodge, Stratford, who motI ored through for the purpose. The following officers were elected:—N.G., Bro. C. H. Arnold, P.G.; V.G., Bro. F. C. Kelly; Treasurer, Bro. L. W. Lovell; Warden, Bro. R. Howell; Chaplain, Bro. G. Mace. The election of secretary (permanent) was deferred until Monday evening, when the District Deputy Grand Master will install the officers. The Grand Lodge representative (Bro. W. F. Crooke) thanked the visiting brethren for the assistance rendered, and expressed the opinion that Paritutu Lodge would now make the same progress that Friendly Societies were making in all parts of the Dominion.
