At the Parish Hall yesterday an instructive lecture on the subject of contagious abortion was delivered by Mr. Woods, Government Veterinary Surgeon, under the auspices of the Stratford branch of the Jersey Breeders' Association. Mr. F. Eanford (president; occupied the chair, and there was an attendance of about forty. Mr. Woods dealt fully with the subject, and made a number of practical suggestions, also answering a number of questions. At the conclusion Mr., Woods was a hearty vote of thanks for having come to Stratford specially to deliver the lecture.

The ann-«j,l gathering of prohibition workers and sympathisers will be held in the StratforJ Methodist Hall on Thursday next, at 7.30 p.m.
