"Townsend made 84 in 7ii minutes on a difficulty pitch. His score included fourteen fours. Holmes, playing against Lancashire, for the .second time, made 111, not out. He is the first batsman this season to make two centuries in one match. Spooner again made 63, being top scorer in both innings against Derbyshire. Howell took T wickets for 35 runs.—Aus.-N.Z.
