In the House of Commons, Mr. Austen Chamberlain (Chancellor of the Exchequer), replying to a question, said that in a case where a preference shareholder in a colonial company received a dividend from a fund which had borne Dominion, income-tax, and where lie was liable to pay United Kingdom incometax in respect of that dividend, a claim is admitted to an appropriate relief from a double tax.
