DOUBLE INCOME TAX.
SEEKING TO PROVIDE RELIEF. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received August 4, 5,5 p.m. London, August 3. In the House of Commons, Mr. Austen Chamberlain (Chancellor of the Exchequer), replying to a question, said that in a case where a preference shareholder in a colonial company received a dividend from a fund which had borne Dominion, income-tax, and where lie was liable to pay United Kingdom incometax in respect of that dividend, a claim is admitted to an appropriate relief from a double tax. He had undertaken to look into the matter again.—Reuter Service*. s
