SYDNEY TRAIN SMASH.
FURTHER PARTICULARS. . By Telegraiih.—Press Asim—Copjilffht. Sydney, August 4. Michael Sheen, an adult, and two boys, Roy White and Stanley Forest, were killed as a result of the railway smash at Hurstville. The trains collided rear to rear while one was shunting for the return journey to Sydney and the other awaiting the signal to proceed to Sutherland. The engine of the former haa already changed to .the other end of the train. Forest was hopelessly buried in the wreckage, the rescuers'having to chop a leg off with a hatchet to extricate him. One boy displayed Wonderful fortitude, askisg for a cigarette. He died on reaching hospital. The injured numbered fifteen.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. Received August 4, 11.15 p.m. Sydney, August 4.
