BOXING.
COMING CONTESTS AT STRATFORD. GOOD PROGRAMME ARRANGED. Great interest is being taken in the boxing tournament to bo held by the Stratford Sports and Pastimes Association at the Stratford Town Hall on August 10. The professional fight for the New Zealand bantam championship promises to be particularly Interesting. B. Facoory arrived in Stratford lost night with his brother as trainer. He is looking very fit and training hard, feeling confident that he can take the title from C. Cann, the present holder. Facoory's record Is one to be proud of. He has had sixteen fights, and has won everyone of them. Some slight alteration has been made in the amateur bouts. McAscy (Lepperton) replaces Clifton in the heavyweights, and will meet King, and Wright (Stratford) meets Coombes (Oaonul) in a special bout Foley meets Gernhoefer In the featherweight, Duggan meets George Cann. of Wanganul, in the lightweight, Casey, of Stratford, meets O'Carroll in the welterweight, and Canute (Stratford) meets Davis (Wanganul) in the middleweight. t . At a meeting of the committee last night, the officials for the tournament were appointed and reports were received that tickets were selling splendidly.
