Sub-Inspector Hutton, of the New Plymouth police, is at present awiy on short holiday leave. Mr. C. J. Miss May McDonald, late of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, Waitara, was married at Hamilton, on June 28th, to Mr.Herrick BorreU, of Waitara/ They left by the Niagara for Canada on July 3rd. Miss C. L. McDonald is at present staying at the flirte' Friendly Society Lodge, Auckland. In the House of Representatives yesterday, fourteen days' absence was ' granted to tbe Hon. G. J.
