NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The serai-finals of the ladies- senior champonshlp of the New Plymouth Club were ployed yesterday afternoon., Results: sirs Butcher beat Miss Stanford, 5 up and 3; !Sf Brewster Dell t M'ss Bundle, 3 up and 1. The finals of both the senior and junior championships will be played next Tuesday. In the senior final, Jfrs. Butcher plavs Sliss Brewster, and in the junior nnar, Miss Foote plays Sllss Bremer. A REMARKABLE SHOT. Of many remarkable shots'played on the Mlramar golf links, one played by Mr. Godfrey Jlagnus Is surely amongst the most remarkMile (tho Dominion reports). He,had played for a green, and had landed in a. position about half-a-dozen yards from the hole, when another player, bound for another green sliced badly, and his bail hit that of Mr Magnus, with just sufficient strength to roll it into the hole. Sir. Magnus vouches for the truth of the story, and says that he very much doubts whether it. has ever been done In the history of the game. When asked how it counted, Mr Magnus said that the shot cou%cd ns\if ho had holed direct.
