INGLEWOOD COUNTY.
Sir,—l have read with interest Mr. Lloyd's reply to my enquiry regarding the rating of this County, but would like to state that thatt enquiry was made in good faith and cour-i teously, and on behalf of many fellow ratepayers wl«o had alked me for an explanation, and that I do not admire the spirit that inspired a reply such as that in yours of this date. There are many, besides myself ,who are of opinion that, after the emphatic manner in which the ratepayers of the late Moa Biding, now Inglewood County, voted in favor of rating on unimproved value, it Is at least n rash step to levy on capital value, and these many may make n very practical objection and so put the new County to an expense that could have been avoided at a time when every shilling is needed to put the new County well on its road to prosperity. The ratepayers have voted on the principle of rating on unimproved value, and that is the whole question so far as I aim concerned.—l am, etc., G, CAPPER. Inglewood, 31st July,
