ODDFELLOWSHIP.
A special meeting of the Triumph Lodge, 1.0.0. F., New Zealand, Stratford, was held in the Foresters' Hall on Friday evening. There was a large gathering of Oddfellows from all the Lodges in Taranaki. Eleven candidates were initiated, the ceremony being impressively carried out by the officers of 3ie Elham Lodge. The District Deputy Grand' Master (Bro. J. M. Thomson), assisted by the members of Hawera Lodge, performed the ceremony of installation of the following officers into their respective chairs:—Bro. J. L. Manners, N.G.; Bro. A. Klee, V.G.; Bro. H. E. Jensen, secretary; Bro. N. Newbold, recording secretary; Bro. Lyons, treasurer; Bro. Jameson, warden; Bro. D'arcy Cameron, conductor; Bro. Hine, R.S.S.; Bro. L. Hansby, L.S.S.; Bro. P. Theobalr, R.S.N.G.; Bro. Gibson, L.S.W.G.; Bro. Smith, 0.G.; •Bro. A. George, J.G.; Bro. Y. Elgar, chaplain.
Bro. W. F. Crooke, Dominion Organising Secretary, congratulated the Lodge on its recent success after the period of dormancy during the war, and wished the officers every success. He stated that the 1.0.0. F. had enrolled nearly 1000 members in 1919, opening four new lodges, and in the Taranaki district recently over two hundred members had been enrolled. Bro. Crooke urged members to attend meetings and take more interest in their lodge. He concluded by, paying a tribute to the splendid work of all Friendly Societies in the lives of the community.
