LOSS OF COAL.

NORTHERN MINERS RESUME. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. After a lapse of several days, in.which the miners were idle through a shortage of explosives, work waS resumed at the Huntly and Rotowaro mines of the Taupiri Company, and the Pukemiro mine, of the Pukemiro Company, this morning. Supplies of explosives that arrived by the schooner Huia from Melbourne on Friday night, were got through to the miners yesterday. It is estimated that with present supplies,' both companies will be in a position to carry on for at least six weeks. In the meantime, they are endeavoring to secure further 'supplies. The loss in output as a result of the stoppage has been estimated at approximately 3500 tons.
