ALLEGED MURDER.
YOUNG WOMAN CHARGED. A young woman, Mary Oyston McGregor, eighteen years of age, appeared at the Hawera Court,' before Mr. W. Cowern, J.P., on Saturday afternoon, charged with the murder of her infant child, which was found in a pond by the police a few days ago. Senior Sergeant Henry asked for a remand till to-day, the clay on which the magistrate sits in Hawera. Mr. P. who appeared for accused, said it was not usual, he' knew, to grant bail on murder charges, and he asked if the police objected. Senior Sergeant Henry said they did object, and the accused was remanded to appear to-day.-^Star.
