! THE WATERLOO CUP. WON BY AUSTRALIAN CADET. S ' The running of tlie New Zealand Waterloo Cup was brought to n successful conclusion at the Glenavon enclosure on Satur.t;iy afternoon. The attendance was larger than en the two previous days. The enclosure was in perfect order, end the game fast and strong,* In fact It is a distinct credit to the officials of the New Plymouth Club for having their arrangements so complete. It was a splenddidly worked up affair, with the result that during the three days coursing everything went oil without a hitch. Tlie public made acquainted with the dogs as they met In their respective courses, and the nnuounciiwof the results by megaphone was muen appreciated. The Cup, Purse and Pinto winners along with their owners, received a sa'vo of cheers from the public as they returned up the enclosure, this concluded the ninnlns of the most successful New Zealand Waterloo Cup meeting held for many years past. ' WATERLOO CUP, Winner £54 and Silver Cup, (presented by Mr B. S. Irwin; runner up £l4 18s; two dogs, £5 8s; three dogs, £4; six doss £3 each net. SEMI-FINAL. Australian Cadet (2) heat- Salvador (1). Sinister (4%) beat Seaplane (4). Australian Cadet had the advantage to puss, and turned to Salvador, who wrenched. Both dogs then drove to cover. Malster lpfl Seaplane and turned the game in favor of the bitch. Quick exchanges then tool; place, Malster drove to the escapes. FINAL. Australian Cadet (4) beat Malster (3j. A strong hare was liberated, and botn dog! left the slips on even terms. Malstir drew out from Australian Cadet half-way dowx the enclosure, and turned the game to the latter Australian Cadet then turned puss in favor of Malster, who failed to seizure the spoiling through over-keenness. Australian Cadet rode over Malster, the latter taking a lefthanded turn, and puss bending to the right favored Australian Cadet, who managed to pick up the hare before the escapes were reached. WATERLOO PUBSE. For doga beaten in the First Hound' of Che W.'aterloo Cup. Winner, £lO 16s and trophy (presented by Mrs. Whittle) * lunner-up, £4; two dogs at £1 10s each net. THIRD ROUND. Live Wire (3) zeat Pirate Chief (1U) King Hope beat Queen Comedy. Adam Bede (3) beat Duminersque (01 Plain Bill, a bye. . Live Wire led and pressed the game, bendlnc her slightly to Pirate Chief. Live Wire then took charge and drove to cover. Puss proved far too strong and fast for Kin" Hope and Queen Comedy, the former leading to the escapes, obtaining the flag on the lead up, SEMI-FINAL. King Hope bent Lire Wire. Adam Beds (2) beat Plain Bill. After a no course, Live Wire had the advantage from the slips. King Hope then crossed Live Wire and led by two lengths to baulk, Adam Bede and Plain Bill had a no course, they were returned to the slips, and in a smart course Adam Bode showed superior dash and killed. FINAL. Adam Bede (4) beat King Hope (2). Puss was strong and fast for the final ot the Purse. The winner led and turned the hare, quick exchanges took place, and Adam Bede drove to cover. WATERLOO PLATE. For dog 3 beaten in the Second Round of the Waterloo Cup. Winner, £lO 16s and trophy (presented by Mrs. T, Richards); . runner up, £4; two dogs, at £1 10s net. SECOND ROUND. McDuff beat Dunsandel Boy. King Bruce (2) beat Forward March (1). Rejected Hope beat Lady Althea. Somme, a bye. McDuff got the advantage to Dunsandel Boy, the latter was slow in sighting, and the former led by seven lengths to baulk. King Bruce led to puss and turned, the game bending to Forward March, both dogs drove to cover. Rejected Hope led and just managed to turn, the flag going against Lady Althea. SEMI-FINAL. MeDuff (4) beat King Bruce (1). Rejected Hope (3) beat Somme (2%). McDuff led and turned twice, the game bending to King Bruce, who mi3sed the opening. McDuff then wrenched twice to the escapei. Somme led Rejected Hope and after wrenching, Rejected Hope took charge and drove td cover. FINAL. McDuff beat Rejected Hope. The hare released was fast and both dogs were on even terms until well down the enclosure, when McDuff drew out and kept close to the quarry and drove to covert. .The winner of the Wnterio cup, Australian Cadet Is by King Comedy—Hlllconrt Lioness, and owned by Mr. Ben, Deeley, or Auckland one trained by Mr. J. Millar, of Hamilton.' Australian Cadet was imported last year from Australia. The winner of the Purse, Adam Bede (Wild Dale—Thoughtful Aggie), Is owned by Messrs.
