BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Dunedin, July 28. There were good yardings of sheep, fat cattle and pigs at Burhside to-day, and although the yarding of lambs was small it proved quite sufficient for buyers' requirements. The sheep offered were of a good class; ewes were largely represented and the prices for sheep showed an advance There was also an excellent demand for fat cattle. Put Catlle—A large yarding, numbering 200 head. Many of the pens contained animals in an unfinished condition, which is the result of the scarcity of winter feed. The demand at the commencement of the sale was good at prices about eqnal to the opening rates at last week's sale. Best bullocks realised £24 to £2O, extra £27. medium £2O to £22. inferior £lO to £l7 10s. best cows and heifers £lO to £lB, extra to £24. medium £l2 10s to £l4, inferior and small £0 to £lO ]os Store Cuttle—A fair yarding was offered, the bulk of which comprised young cattle in backward condition with a few pens of better class sorts. Sheep.—A large yarding, numbering 2579 head. Buyers from nothern centres were operating for all medium elass sheep and, taken all round, an excellent sale resulted. Good prices were secured for forward wethers and ewes Mixed sex hoggets 27s to 29s Bd, good wetners hoggets 26s M to 28s, inferior wethers hoggets 21s 9d. ewe hoggets 29s lid to 30s 3d, ordinary and inferior 2, 4, 6, and 8-tooth ewes in lamb 24s lOd to 27s lid. good 2, 4, 6, and 8-tooth ewes.
