During the past few days rumors have been current that the price of butter is to be substantially increased, and as a consequence there has been a rush by a large number of people to lay in extra supplies. This foresight, as "it were, is not warranted, as there is excellent authority for believing that there is no immediate prospect of an increase in butter prices. If any aovance is ultimately decided on it is understood it will not take place till about October.
