WATERLOO CUP MEETING. HARES GO WELL. The second day of the running ot the New Zealand Waterloo Cup fixture was commenced at the appointed hour at the New Plymouth Club's enclosure, Glen Avon, yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of tho public. Tho Plumpton was In excellent order, and the hares In great form, and In all but two cases the gaime outclassed the dogs. Thirty-two courses were run, ana tne aay's sport was concluded at 4 p.m. The meeting commenced with tho fourth round of the cup, In which seven dogs competed. This now leaves four dogs to flglit nut the semi-final, and final—Salvador, Australian Cadet, Malster, and Seaplane, the former three dogs belong to Hamilton, and Seaplane mm Wanganui. Much Interest was robbed from the Purse in the wlhtdrawal of Lady Vera, Kalapoi, and Champpion Lass, thus giving three accidental byes. Only two South Island dogs remain in the Stake, Dunsandel Boy in the Plate, and King Hope in the Purse. The management of the meeting was again excellent. Air. ,T. .lenklnson wielded ciie flags, Mr. P. McConnell acted as slipper, and Mr. P. Nichols was a moat obliging call steward. Results:— WATERLOO CUP. ' Pourth Round. Salvador (1%) beat Mons (0). Australian Cadet beat Gay Lad. Seaplane (4) beat Commoner 3. Malster, a bye. Salvador and Mons were the first brace lo the slips. Mons led and the former gained a. go-bye on the outer circle, nnd turned the game to cover. In racing down the plumpton, Australian Cadet was momentarily unsighted, hut recovered and led Gay Lad by four lengths to tiie escapes. Commoner led Seaplane, turned puss to the latter, who scored a turn and wrenched. Exchanges then took place. Seaplane drove to cover. Malster, a bye. WATERLOO PURSE. (For Dogs beaten in the first round of Cup.) First Round, Live Wire (3) beat Statesman's Pride (0). Uncle Ned (1) beat Tekapau Lass (0). Remnant beat Keep Going. Ben Bolt (3) beat Roy (0). % King Hope (1) beat Irish Molly (0). Plain Bill beat Taka Lass. King Pirate (2%) beat Master Tuckfleld (%)■ Clipper beat .Tim Tuckfleld. Adam Bebe boat Sunspot. Tirate Chief, Queen Comedy, Failsworth Sylph had accidental byes, and Dummersque a natural bye. In the opening of the first round of the Purse, Live Wire led, turned, and wrenched, and Statesman's Pride killed. Uncle Ned beat Tekapau Lass on speed. Remnant did not sight tho game until well down the plumpton, when he led Keep Going and got the flag on speed. Ben Bolt led Roy, who stood oft the gnme. Ben Bolt then wrenched and killed. King Hope beat Irish Molly on the run up to baulk. Laka Lass failed to join in her course, and the flag was given to Plain Bill. King Pirate led Master Tuckfleld, turned and wrenched. Master Tuckfleld drove to cover. Clipper won on speed. Adam Bede outclassed his opponent In tho run up, puss escaping. Second Round. Live Wire beat Uncle Nod (0). Pirate Chief (1) beat Remnant (J). Queen Comedy (4) beat. Falsworth Sylph (0). King Hope (2) beat Ben Bolt (1). Plain Bill (2%) beat King Pirate (2). Dummersque (;") beat Clipper (2). Adam Bede, a bye . • Wlro showed superiority orer Uncle Ned. It was an even course between Pirate Chief and Remnant, the former just managed to ytrench before the game escaped. Queen Comedy led and turned the game tsree times and drove to cover. King Hope led, turned the gamo in favor of Ben Bolt, the gamo escaping. King Pirate led Plain Bill, and lost to the latter, who drove to cover. Dumimersnue led Clipper, but did all the work on a short course. WATERLOO PLATE. (For Dogs beaten in second round of, Cup.) First Round. McDuff beat Will o' the Wisp. Dunsandel Boy (4) beat Shillelagli (3y 2 ). King Bruce beat Cannibal. Forward March beat Black Ada. Rejected Hope (5) boat Tip Up. Soinme beat. Commerce. Lady Althea, a byo. McDufr obtained the flag on speed from Will o' the Wisp. Shillelagli led Dunsandel Boy and turned to tho latter, wko worked the game well, exchanges between the two Shillelagh killed. The flag was given to King Bruce on speed. Forward March led Black Ada and just managed to turn the game to baulk. Rejected Hope led and turned the game down the plumpton, both dogs exchanging. Rejected Hope drove to cover. After a no course, Sommo led Commerce, who ran partly unsighted. Somme drove to eoiver. Lady Althea, a bye. The card for to-day is exceptionally goejd, and will commence at 2 pjm. with the' second round of the Plate, semi-final of tho Cup, then the third round of the Purse, final of the Cup, and semi-finals and finals of the Plate and Turse will conclude' the meeting.
