Amery (Under-Secretary for the Colonies), urging a year's extension of the overseas settlement scheme, pointing outy/that owing to the scarcity of shipping to Australia few ex-service men had emigrated there, whereas a large number had gone to Canada. A brighter shipping outlook for Australia would provide opportunities for further settlement. . Colonel Amery will consider the, matter.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
