Advices from Beirut state that the French occupied Aleppo on the 23rd inst., and entered Damascus on the 25th. A new Sherifian Government has been formed, which accepted General Gourad's conditions, including immediate disarmament and the deposition of Emir Feisal, who has been asked to leave the country.—Reuter Service. London, July 28. The King of Hedjaz has recalled his representative from the Peace Conference in Paris owing to the French action in Syria, against which the King protested to the League of Nations. Further advices from Beirut state that the reparations demanded by General Gouraud are for damage done by guerilla*, and the Syrian army to be turned into a police force.—Reuter Service.
