IMPORTS OF CEMENT.
A REMISSION OF DUTY. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, Telaraph.—Frew Allocation. Wellington, Last. Night. The acute shortage of cement in New Zealand has been engaging the attention of the Board/ of Trade, and tonight the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. E. P. Lee) stated that as a means of temporarily easing the present position the Government had given its approval to a recommendation of the Board for the remission of duty on imported cement up fo 6000 tons upon the following conditions:— .(a) To claim remission of duty on cement imported each person snail ' . be required to apply to the Board i of Trade for a license. (b) All licenses so issued shall be subject to the conditions that licensees shall supply to'the Board of Trade a complete* schedule showing the distribution of each shipment received, and shall also disclose to the BoaTd > of Trade the price at which the cement was purchased, . and jthall agree to sell the cement ' in* New Zealand -at a prior to be 'agreed upon between the importers' and the Board of Trade,
