EMBARGO ON RACEHORSES.
MAINTAINED AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph Press Association. Auckland, Last Niglit. The waterside workers have received no official information of the lifting of the embargo on racehorses and racing material, and this was very evident at the Arahura's side to-day, when the racehorse Cynic came down to the wharf for shipment by that vessel to Gisborne, and the men on the waterfront refused to handle the animal. The president of the Waterside Workers' Union referred to the matter this afternoon. He was very emphatic on the point that his union liad received no official intimation that the Transport Workers' Federation had decided to lift the embargo, and that the seamen and firemen on board the East Coast trader were also without such information, and would not accept anything but official information on the point. The Arahura sailed for Gisborne at 12.30 p.m., but without Cynic.
