Km IMPERIAL MEAT. RATES FOR PRIVATE SHIPMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Niglxt. The New Zealand Overseas Shipowners' Committee announces that it has received a cablegram from the London Tonnage Committee to the effect that the Imperial Government finds it necessary to retain its requisition of insulated space in trading with Australia and New Zealand untU April, 1921. The rates of freight which the Imperial Government proposes to charge for the carriage of private meat in requisitioned inoulated space will be as follows:—Beef l%d, mutton and veal and crates of sundries %d, lamb and bags of sundries 2d, rabbits £8 15s per 40 cubic feet, fruits 8s per case, all plus 10 per cent. No indication has yet reached the New Zealand Overseas Shipowners' Committee regarding the amount of space which will be made available by the Imperial Government for the carriage of private meat.
