The marriage of Mr. Henry John Alexander to Miss Rosa May J ur T> ®' " est son and daughter respectively of Mr. D Alexander and Mr. C. H. Jury, took place at St. Luke's Church on Tuesday afternoon, the edifice being well-filled with friends. The Rev. G. H. Gavin officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in crepe-de-chine over silk, and she wore the usual veil. The bridesmaid (Miss M. Jury, of Haw era) was in creme net, with lemon trimming, and leghorn hat with streamers. The best man was Mr. Harold Alexander. The young couple received numerous presents. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a go d pendant, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a handsome pipe. The breakfast was served at the residence of the bride's parents, and the usual toasts were honored. ' For over a month or more matches have been a scarce commodity; in fact, they were unobtainable at any shop, and people have been getting their supplies from neighboring towns. At last the drought has broken and quite a variety, never seen before, can now be obtained. Probably we shall not now hear: "Have you got a match?" so ufI ten.
