Downward tendency. BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Dunedin, July 21. There were fair supplies of fat stock offered at Burnside to-day. A keen demand e«xisted for all classes /it prices on a par with the high rates lately ruling. Pigs were again In short supply and realised extreme prices.; Pat Cattle: A moderate yarding Of medium quality. A total of 185 head was offered for sale. The demand was good at prices on a par with last week's rates, which were equal to 57a 6d to 66s per 1001b. Prime bullocks realised £22, £2B 15s, £'2B 17s fid and £32 a head, medium £lB to £2l, light and unfinished sorts from £ls upwards. Prime heifers made froun £ls 15s to £2O, medium £l3 10s to £ls, light and aged from £lO 10s upwards. Store cattle: There was an- Improvement in the supply, and, also In the quality of the store cattle penned for to-day's sale. There was a good demand for cattle showing condition. Late values were more than maintained. Sheep: A medium yarding, totalling 2104 head. The quality of the whole was fairly good. The demand was good. At the opening of the sale prices were a shade weaker, but as the sale progressed values firmed up to the level of those which ruled at last week's Bale. Specially selected extra prime heavyweight .wethers realised up to 90s Gd, extra prime heavy-weight wethers from 57s 9d to 80s 3d, prime 50s 6d to 55s 3d, medium 42s to 48s fld, light and unfinished- kinds from 36s upwards. Specially selected extra heavy-weight ewes made up to 66s 6d, extra prime heavyweight ewes 54s 3d to 61a 6d, prime 44s to 52s Cd, medium 35s to 42s 6d, light and aged from 28s upwards. Lambs: A small yarding of fair quality, numbering 290 head The demand was good, and for well-finished lambs values were not quite saliigh, but unfinished sorts/suitable for graziers sold at prices equal to those which ruled at last week's sale. Freezing buyers were not operating on account of the closing down of the works. Prices ranged from 27s to 35s a head.
