WON AT 153 MILES AN HOUR. By Telesraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received July 25, 5.5 p.m. London, July 23. Bookmakers will be permitted to operate at Hendon for to-morrow's air Derby, a two hundred miles circuit around London. Hawker is favorite. Hinkler is next in favor, with Raymond third favorite, but. probably he will not start owing to a slight accident. There will b8 six'teen competitors. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received July 26, 12.15 a.m. London, July 24. Great crowds witnessed the start and finish of the Aerial Derby. Points of vantage along the course were also thronged, particularly Epsom Downs. The weather was unsettled, the wind strong, and the visibility good. There were fifteen starters, the limit men including Hammersley and Hinckler on Baby Avros. They had such a long start that they completed the first circuit before the highest powered machines started.
F. Courtney, on a 300-h.p. Martynside de Semiquaver won, averaging 153 i miles hourly. The handicap resulted: Hammersley 1, Hinckler 2, Courtney 3.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
