BRYAN NOMINATED. REPUBLICAN PROGRAMME. By TeleEraph.—Fress Assn.—Coiiyrlcht. New York, July 22. A telegram from Lincoln, Nebraska, states that the Prohibition Party lias nominated Mr. Bryan for the Presidency. According to a message from iMarion, Ohio, Mr. Harding, the Republican candidate, promised to sign peace immeliately Congress passed a declaration to that effect: "No surrender of rights to a world council or military alliance; no assumed mandatory ever sliall summon the sons of the Republic to war." He would approach the nations proposing to commit "the moral forces cf the world, America included, to peace and international justice, still leaving Amerioa free, independent and self-reliant, but Offering friendship to all the world." He approves collective bargaining, but insists that the exercise of it must not destroy the right of the individual in pursuit of a livelihood. The right to strike against the Government is properly denied, as its service does not involve profit. He opposes Government ownership and approves a free Panama Canal for American shipping, a protective tariff, the care of veterans, especially disabled men, the effecting of an understanding with Mexico, the enforcement of Prohibition, the giving of America maritime supremacy.—Aus.-N.Z.
