FIRE ON A LINER.
VESSEL FULLY LOADED. DIFFICULT TO CHECK OUTBREAK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. i Wellington, Last Night. A fire was discovered in the 'tween decks of number one hold on the Raranga to-night. The liner is fully loaded with general cargo, including flax and wool, and wbb to sail for London on Saturday at daybreak. , •. The city brigade was called out and broke through -the insulated door' in- order to get at the fire, but without success, as the opening of the door made the fire worse. , The door had to be closed again. The brigade will either have to cut through the decks or lift the smouldering cargo from the hold, hosing it as it comes out.
