Swedes &we are carted dairy to the cows which, run in bush paddock, These swedes ■will last until about Ist August. The top paddock of swedes js not yet touched. Mangolds are being lifted,. Carrots.—A few are being fed to cows in milk, and horses. Cabbages and kale are being fed to pigs and sereral yearling Jersey heifers. Hay.—The old stack is being fed out to the cattle. It will last to about Ist August.
Pasture.—All the cleared grass paddocks will be harrowed as opportunity* occurs. The question of top-dressing tlio two road paddocks should be considered. Oats and vetches are looking well. Ensilage has not been used yet. Stock.—Two cows are in milk. Forty one dry cows and two bulls are in bush paddock, and are fed daily with swedes and hay carted to thein. Twenty-eight heifers and five yearlings and three cows are on swedes and run off on grass. Jersey yearlings and one empty heifer are on grass and fed with cabbages, etc. Five heifers were sold during the month Two horses get fed with .carrots and hay. Pigs.—There are sows which have been to the boar, one boar and nine stores, and four slips. Houses for the sows are • necessary. The number of houses required depend on the number of sows to be kept. Cowshed and Yard.—Metalling of the lane past the cowyard is needed, and shingle is also needed to build up the walk off from the concrete outlet. Drinking trough in the cowyard would be an advantage. Hedges.—The road hedges need cleaning and misses replaced. Top dressing of two front paddocks was left to the farm committee. Disposing of surplus pigs and accommodation of sows retained was left in the hands of Messrs Wickham and Werer, with power to act. Metalling the yard and walk off was deferred until the weather is more settled. The matter of engaging extra assistance on farm was left in the hands of the chairman and farm manager, with power to act. The manager's report was adopted. Messrs Wickham and Pitt were instructed to attend to the matter of stock valuation for balance sheet purposes. The matter of drafting the annual report was left in the hands of the chairman and Mr. Pitt. The purchase of a suitable horse for farm wovk I was authorised. Accounts amounting to £Bl 7s lid wefe passed for payment.
