Though the British commander on the Rhine' ordered that all arms in private possession in the occupied area must fie given up by, the 20th mst., General von der Goltz announces that arms .will not be given up, because to do so wouid mean certain ruin to the Fatherland, lie urges that armed discharged soldiers should be employed on farms in order ,to protect landowners against Spar-tacists.—Aus.-N.Z.
